Anemone - Red Cut Leaf

Red Cut Leaf Anemone, Anemone multifida 'Rubra', is a charming, low-growing anemone that sprouts interesting incised leaves Striking, carmine-red flowers float above the light green cut-leaved foliage in early summer, and resembles tight globes. This native plant is excellent for the front of the perennial border. 'Rubra', carefree and low maintenance, is best grown in deep, moisture retentive soil in a partly shaded garden, but can also be tolerant of a sunny, dry situation. Apply a winter mulch in cold climates. Provide some shading from midday sun in hot areas. Divide every 3-4 years digging deeply, and then replant immediately.
