Garden gnomes are colorful statue representations of mythical creatures that live mostly below ground. Garden gnomes got their start in 1847 when Sir Charles Isham acquired some terracotta gnome figures on a trip to Germany and placed the gnomes in his garden as ornaments. Since then, garden gnomes have become a popular garden decoration. Unless they are gnome-napped by the Gnome Liberation Front, these gnomes won't roam!
